Not only is Clay Heger an integral part of Pete Carr Pro Rodeo, he has been recognized as one of the top bullfighters in the PRCA. Twice he’s been nominated for Bullfighter of the Year and has served as a finalist to fight bulls at the National Finals Rodeo.
Born in Grand Forks, British Columbia, Heger was raised in Asotin, Wash., by Grace and Paul Heger, both of whom were active in rodeo. Brother Colt Heger began fighting bulls first, but Clay Heger quickly followed. He attended Odessa College in west Texas on a scholarship to fight bulls.
Now a full-time since 2012, he is one of the top protection bullfighters in the game.
