Josh Edwards is a true cowboy, and he’s showcased it in more ways than most.
Edwards owns a Screen Actors Guild card and is credited with being associated on five movies – whether as a wrangler or as a stunt man. His most recent film credit was 2016’s Free State of Jones, which stars Matthew McConaughey.
But he is much more than movie work that describes Edwards. He is one of the very best pickup men in rodeo, having worked many big rodeos, including the 2014 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. He’s also been the NFR alternate four times and worked the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo in 2012.
Edwards attended Hill College in Hillsboro, Texas, on a rodeo scholarship. He competed in tie-down roping, team roping and steer roping, then began his work as a pickup man in 1999. He hasn’t looked back since.
